Fun Go Wild Card by Elaine

It’s Elaine and I can’t tell you how much of an honor it is to share this card with you.

For the base of the card you will need one piece of cardstock 4 ¼”  x 11” scored at 5 ⅜”and

5 ⅝”. Fold on the scored lines.  Then you will need (2)  4” x 5 ⅛” of a print paper to attach inside.

#1

Next the pop up mechanism comes from a piece of cardstock 6” x 7 ¾” which will be scored along the 7 ¾” side at 3”, 3 ¾”, 4 ½” and 7 ½” .  Once scored, turn and cut on the 6” side at 1”, 2”, 3”, 4”, and 5” yielding six  1”strips.  Fold on  the scored lines, mountain fold at 3”, valley fold at 3 ¾” and mountain fold on the 4 ½” and 7 ½”.  Glue the ¼” tab to the base forming a triangle for all six strips.

#2

Making sure the folded parts are closest to you and the glued portion away add them to one another by putting glue along the left hand edge of the 1st piece and placing second piece ⅜” (not quite ½ way) in.  You do this for all successives.  After you have glued 3 pieces together check to see about the spacing because you want the total mechanism to measure no more than 4”.

#3

Once you have that done, flip it over and put glue along the total left hand strip.

#4

This will anchor one side of the mechanism.  Turn it back over and place it close to the scored line and adhere.

Your left hand side is free at this point.  Now add glue to the left hand strip (top side) and carefully lift it up and adhere it to the top side of the card just above the fold line.

#6 (photo) and #7 (photo)

You should now see the mechanism pop up and rotate as you open the card.  Now you can decorate the card.  To help images pop, I added a ⅞” x1 ¾” strip to the back of each fold. Then I added Gerda’s images from the sets Go Wild and Party Animals.

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial!  Go Wild!
