A little bit about ATC's - Guest Designer Fabella with an introduction for you!

Hello and welcome!

It's Sandra (Fabella) on the blog today and I want to tell you a little bit about ATC's.

Let us start with: What is an ATC?

An ATC - artistic trading card - is a tiny card with fixed dimensions: 6,4 cm x 8,9 cm or 2,5" x 3,5".

So it's the same size like traditionell trading cards. But this is the only specification you have to follow.

The first one who trade such lovely little cards was M. Vanci Stirnemann, a Swiss Artist who did 1200 cards for an exhibit. And he invited other people to also such little cards to swap them around the world.

ATC's could be mixed media, drawn, fabric, stamping .... what ever you like to do on it.

Usually you exchange them for other cards. You can trade them around the world. For example there are special groups on facebook, where you can find other interested people who want to swap the little cards.

Sometimes I also use them for little extra greetings to my friends. For birthdays, christmas or just a little hello:

The most ATCs has some informations on their backs.

Like: "Title, Number x of x (if you do some same cards or some cards with the same motif), the name of the artist, the date or something else. But this isn't a specification.

Here is an example for a series of two with the same motif:

And an example for a back of the ATC:

I collect my cards in special collecting cases, who made for trading cards:

Hello everyone, it's Karen here today and I hope you had a good Christmas holiday! I've got a shaker birthday card for you today with some happy, little penguins.
