Smile! Turn that frown upside down by Jeannie
May 24, 2020
For this card, I started out with a card panel and did some ink blending. I used a couple shades of green distress inks (Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint) for the grass. To provide some dimension, I used a few similar
alcohol markers to add blades of grass. In the sky, I used a base of Squeezed Lemonade to cover the rest of the card panel. I also wanted to add some interest to the background so I used a layering stencil called Catching Some Rays. For the first layer, I used Mustard Seed and then for the second layer, I used Fossilized Amber.
I stamped out the flamingo from the
Upside Down Flamingo set and colored him in using pink alcohol markers. I had this
pink flock and really wanted to use it to add texture and just a general fuzziness to the flamingo. I used some liquid glue and added it right over the pink areas, waited a little bit and added flock, pressing it down to adhere properly. Isn't it so fun?
For the sentiment, I stamped it out using a
watermark ink on black cardstock, adding some
white embossing powder. I decided to trim down each word to scatter around the flamingo. I thought it added some fun to the card. What do you think?
