Boo!

Greetings everyone!

I'm Jessie Scott and I'm here today as a Guest Designer for Gerda Steiner Designs!

My card showcases the new "Skyline" stamp set from the new release this week!

There are two stamps in the "Skyline" set and I thought one of my favorite stamps "Ghosts" would go well with a fun spooky city scene at night.

First I used my embossing buddy on my black cardstock to prep for embossing. Then I stamped the cityscape scene with versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Next I used some paper scraps to temporarily mask off the shapes of the buildings roughly and added splatter to the background using my kuratake pearl colors watercolor set in my splatter box.

I colored my ghosts with my OLO markers (newer alternative to Copics) using BG 2.1\2.3.

My ghosts were then mounted to the card using foam tape on the outer two and then the middle one is actually using a mini wobbler. I love to add these to cards to give a fun interactive feel! Wobbler elements mail well as long as the rest of the card doesn't have many layers. I also use a thin piece of dinner plate packing foam to even out the bumpiness of the card and protect the wobbler.

The buildings looked a little plain so I got out my jelly roll moonlight pens and took the yellow and randomly colored in windows here and there. I then found a similar yellow piece of cardstock and used that to create the card base to make the windows pop on the card.

Top it all off with a stamped sentiment and punch out with your favorite sentiment strip die. I mounted it on the card with foam tape for a little dimension.

Here's a video of the finished result! Hope you love my spooky wobbling ghost!

I love the expressions of these ghosts and it lets you make a scene that hints at a story. I feel like this is three brothers floating above the city. The immature middle child is trying to scare the younger one and then the third one is off to the side, obviously the older and more mature one, thinking "why did I bring them again?" Haha!

Tune back in on the 18th for another card I will be sharing on the blog! In the meantime you can follow me on Instagram (@chevy.scott) to stay in touch between now and then!
